Where can you find unique & special Christmas gifts in Dublin?

We want to share our Top 10 with you!

I have spent some time around Dublin City this December on a mission; to find the special & unique shops in Dublin to pick up the perfect Christmas gifts for my loved ones this year. I wanted each friend & family member to receive a personal & thoughtful gift that they would treasure and appreciate, all to add to the joy & magic of Christmas….I am happy to share some of my favourites with you!

My first destination was the well known shopping district of Henry Street. On your trip here you will find all of the reputable shops that you would expect, but one of my favourites is LUSH. You will smell the beautiful scents before you even see the store - which lures you in. A Christmas gift from LUSH would make any girl happy and the best thing I find, is the amazing Christmas gift wrapping on offer which finishes off your gift perfectly. They offer an array of bright & colourful gift paper with a rustic feel along with pretty twine & bows. From facemasks to novelty bath bombs to lip gloss, you are sure to tick a couple of gifts off your list after your visit here.

While on Henry Street, you must pop into Arnotts Department store. If for nothing else, take time to view their iconic Christmas window displays. These are sure to give you that Christmas feeling you have been waiting for.

Jervis Shopping centre is less than a 5 minute walk from here. I find that Jervis Shopping centre go above and beyond with their Christmas decorations -  which you notice as soon as you step inside.

Within here I came across Treasured Dolls. For that special little someone in your life, give them a gift to last a lifetime & that they can treasure forever. They have a gorgeous selection of dolls to choose from, each dressed in a variety of costumes such as cosy nightclothes, a ballet outfit & a riding outfit; This gives you the chance to make a very personal selection.

If you don’t know what to get that someone who already has ‘everything’, while in Jervis Shopping Centre, step into B Cool! The gadget store. From comic themed lights to chess boards to lava lamps…they stock all sorts of wonderful gadgets & gifts so take your pick.

Two minute’s away from Jervis Shopping centre, located on Lower Ormond Quay, I came across The Winding Stairs book shop. This bookshop has a truly unique atmosphere as it is one of the oldest surviving independent book shops in Dublin with an extensive range to browse. They even serve tea/coffee & wine so you can take a little time out to go over your list. The famous ha’penny bridge is right outside The Winding Stairs book shop, so take a stroll across the River Liffey and you will arrive in the Temple Bar area.

On Crown Alley, Temple Bar, I stepped into a wonderful little store full of treasures – The Jam Art Factory, which is an Irish art & design shop. This store only stocks Irish designed items and they have an array of ceramics, textiles, jewellery and street art.  A lover of art and unique items will be overjoyed with a gift from here this Christmas. This is truly a little gem in Temple Bar and I enjoyed browsing through their magnificent products.

Just around the corner I noticed the vintage signage for Auntie Nellies Sweet Shop – this shop takes you on a trip down memory lane. They have kept the traditional role of retailing which is shown through their brilliant customer service. There is a huge range of sweets and hampers to choose from. I found this to be a very enjoyable shopping experience. For an old friend with a sweet tooth, you can’t go wrong with a gift hamper from ‘Auntie Nellies’

I continued my Temple Bar shopping experience and ventured over to Cow’s lane. I came across an unusual shop with a festive feel called FIND. This is located directly across from Queen of Tarts. It stocks an array of products including candles & soft furnishings but personally I was attracted to the antique & vintage items and pictures. This store is one of those shops that you can get lost in and enjoy browsing every item in sight. That one gift is sure to jump out at you and you will know immediately who it is for.

After my enjoyable stroll through Temple Bar, next on my list was Grafton Street. However on the way, I popped into one of my favourite stores of all time – Avoca on Suffolk Street. I find Avoca to be one of the most exciting stores to visit, especially around Christmas time. Enter into the magical atmosphere and browse the Avoca perfumes, glassware, ceramics, throws and much much more. They have beautiful and unique little gifts that would suit all tastes & don’t forget about the café upstairs for a quick bite to eat.

Grafton Street contains high end shops such as Brown Thomas but for me, especially at Christmas time, The Disney Store is a must. The Disney Store is part of Christmas in Dublin. For your children, nieces, nephews or cousins or for those ‘big kids’, you are bound to find the perfect, exciting & magical Christmas gift here as lets face it, who doesn’t like Disney?
